Content of Ozone Therapy Course

This course on Ozone Therapy, with an approximate duration of 8 hours, is specifically designed for dentists interested in acquiring the required expertise to implement ozone therapy in their dental practice. This course will cover ozone therapy and its dental applications, from its biomedical basis to its clinical practice.SEE MORE...

It intends to provide dentist with the required training, enabling them to use medical ozone in the daily practice. At the end of the course, after passing a test, the student will be certified as “Dental Ozone Therapist”, with the support of the World Federation of Ozone Therapy (WFOT) and the Spanish Society of Ozone Therapy (SEOT).

The course starts from the most basic concepts, and it develops up to the clinical practice, showing video examples where the student will be able to see (insufflated and infiltrated) gas application, and ozonated water and vegetable oils elaboration and application. The purpose is to start using this technique in an effective and safe manner as soon as possible.

In the first unit, basic concepts to understand medical ozone cell biology are covered.
We will explain concepts, such as “free radical”, “oxidative stress” or “oxidation-reduction balance”. These are closely linked to the development of degenerative, immune, or inflammatory diseases, as it is the case of diabetes, multiple sclerosis, or periodontal disease.

The second unit outlines the general biologic effects of medical ozone and its safety.

The third unit focuses on the antiseptic properties and its different application routes in dentistry: gaseous ozone, ozonated water and oils.

The fourth unit is the longest one and it is divided into five sessions:

Surgery and endodontics.
Periodontology.
Oral implantology.
Oral surgery.
Oral medicine, cosmetic medicine, and temporomandibular dysfunction.

This eminently practical course allows students to familiarise themselves with the technique through videos of real clinical cases and is based on indexed publications with preclinical and clinical studies in the different disciplines.

The references accompanying the discussion will allow students to broaden their knowledge and deepen their expertise in the fields they deem appropriate. At the same time, they will be able to keep up to date by searching directly in PubMed for related articles.
